Tea For Two

After two days of hosting parties, I am really ready to get back to stamping! I am already holidayed out, so I decided to make a card with spring colors today. This image reminds me of the time my twin sister, Catherine, and I went to Marshall Fields on State Street in Chicago to have High Tea in the Walnut Room. We were Christmas shopping and knew that it would probably be the last year that the store would be Marshall Fields (before becoming Macy's). We sat next to the 45-foot tree adorned with Swarovski crystals as the waiters brought three-tiered platters of scones, tea sandwiches, and sweets--which were REALLY sweet! Everything was just perfect, until we ate the sweets, because of course, they were REALLY sweet. To top off our High Tea we had, obviously, tea. But this was not the herbal tea that you drink before you go to bed. This was the kind of tea that they made with the leaves in front of us and had some insane amount of caffine in it. Needless to say, my sister and I were bouncing off the walls of the Walnut Room with all of the caffine and sweets (they were REALLY sweet) that we had just consumed. It was such a great memory and I am so happy that we got to experience it before Marshall Fields closed.
