A Letter from the Editor

My mom has quickly come to realize that there is an exponential relationship between her card making endeavors and the vital need for technological skills. Since she handles the creative stuff, I have been recruited (bribed) to handle any and all computer-related situations. Not only have I learned how to make a blog banner, create a signature, and produce a watermark, but I have embedded an entire new lingo into my internal dictionary (CB, LO, embellies, nesties, and oh the list goes on…). Whenever she can grab me to figure out some technical problem on the computer, she usually encourages me to "jazz up" her blog entries, too. Since I feel as though I play a crucial role in my mom's card making experience, I have decided to declare myself as Editor-in-Chief of Crooked Card Creations. Long story short, you will be seeing quite a bit of me on this blog as this mother/daughter duo try to tackle the extensive world of card making and blogging.

Pink Tulips

I don't usually make a card for the color challenge at SCS, because I do not have any SU products. That will all be changing soon I just placed my first order for $$$$$$$! And I could have spent another$$$$! I thought I would make a card today because the colors were pink black, and white. I have been wanting to use the stamps from Gina K A Year Of Flowers. They are so pretty, I don't know what all the flowers are but I love the tulip. It is a single flower so I masked and stamped it twice and colored it with copics. I did add a little Shimmers to the petals also. The paper is PTI white and Bazzill pink, the ribbon is from May Arts. I also used the Cuddlebug Swiss Dots Embossing Folder and Martha Stewarts border punch. Thanks for taking a peek!

Best Wishes

Oooo! I just got this Vellum Cardstock from PTI, and it is really nice. It is thicker than most vellums so it is really nice to use embossing powder on it. To make this card I stamped the image from Stampendous on the vellum and colored it on the back side. On the front I added Opal Shimmers and Pink Petal Liquid Pearls. The cord is from Gina K and the ribbon is May Arts.
The hardest part was tryng to adhere the vellum, it is a little harder than a thinner vellum I had to use some heavy duty zots and hid them behind the bow and flowers. Thanks for looking!

The sparkle paper is from Doodlebug Design , and the red and green are Bazzill. I used a lot of pop dots on this card, so it has a lot of dimension. Thanks for looking!

Christmas Cafe

I am going to pretend that this is me and my sister have a glass of holiday cheer. It looks like we have bought each other the same gift! We are twins in real life, so this makes sense that we are kind of dressed the same. Once in a while we have on similar outfits or we really do buy each other similar gifts, I guess it's a twin thing!

I made this card using the MFT stamp set, Meet Me At The Cafe. I love this set. To make this card I paper pieces the girls dresses, both have on sparkly tops. I used fun flock and glitter. The background is embossed with the swirls cuddlebug folder, and the border is a Martha Stewart Punch. The canopy has Liquid Applique mixed with glitter on it. I also used a snowflake punch and felt flowers. Thanks for looking

Snow Day

This card reminds me of this one snowy day when DH was at work and my daughter was about six years old. We spent hours outside making snowballs just waiting for daddy to come home. We were going to blast him with the hundreds of snowballs we made. He pulled in the driveway, we were ready, we thew about fifty snowballs at him and never hit him once. He threw one snowball at me and I looked like the poor snowman on the ground!

This card was a blast to make! The paper is from My Minds Eye, Bazzill, and PTI. The image is from Impression Obsession. There is a lot of Hero Arts Prisma Glitter on this card, it really is not showing up to well in the picture. In keeping with the title of my blog, I see that the buttons are a little crooked. If you look at the card a little sideways they look straight!
